2019 WANDERLUST YOGA TEACHER TRAINING & IMMERSION
IMMERSE IN YOGA, NATURE & COMMUNITY
Imagine yourself practicing yoga at the top of High Camp, sitting in dharma talks at the base of waterfalls in Shirley Canyon, and making lifelong connections in the heart of the mountains.
Inspired by the Wanderlust Festival, you’ll explore the practice of yoga with world class teachers and like-minded friends, while embracing the stunning terrain of Squaw Valley. Led by Meg McCraken and assistant Shari Beard, our unique program blends studio training with outdoor leaning in the fresh mountain air and sunshine. Along with special guest scholars Dr. Mike Lane, Kali Cathie, Michelle Linane and Lauri Glenn, our training shares a diverse array of wisdom and knowledge to help you find your True North and inspire others to do the same.
Pressed for time? Our training is spread out over 6 months with 4 (5-day) modules, giving you space to live your life and integrate the knowledge between modules. You have two years to complete the training so you can do Mods 1 & 2 this year and finish the training next year.
Not planning on teaching? This training will deepen your understanding of your own practice and your own heart. Many of our prior graduates choose not to teach, and we welcome all kinds of students!
It is our mission to provide a once in a lifetime experience in finding your True North while connecting to a community of lifelong friends, teachers, and mentors. Our intention is that you graduate from this training with the ability to integrate the teachings into your own life, and with the skills to share them with your own yoga students, if that is the path you choose to follow.

What are graduates saying about our training?
- “If you are even remotely thinking about possibly taking this training, just do it!! It changed my life in ways I couldn’t even have imagined! Meg and Shari are rock stars, it is amazing to just be in the same circle with them. Namaste!” – Juli A.
- “There are no words for how much I appreciate Meg and Shari. What they do and how they do it is such a gift to the world. They have made me grateful for each and every moment. Even for my good friends “doubt”, “perfection,” and “self-judgement”…I have already invited them to tea a few times since I’ve returned home.
My sincerest compliments to you for an incredible teacher-training program! I can’t believe the difference in all of us from the first day sitting in that circle (terrified) and sitting in the circle on our grad night. It was a melting pot of warmth, love, kindness, friendship, devotion…there just are no words and I thank you from the bottom of my heart” – Julie S.
- “I feel immense gratitude for my yoga teacher training through Wanderlust with Meg McCraken and Shari Beard. As an older student who has studied various topics in various types of institutions, I sincerely appreciated the structure Wanderlust brought to the curriculum. This structure includes: consistent practice area, text books, accredited instructors and experts, as well as, teaching yoga from it’s history to present-day evolution not just a certain dogma.
More specifically, Meg and Shari, bring love, integrity and knowledge to the experience. Even if I chose not to teach, the training has solidified my home practice. My posture improved and I move through the world with greater intention and positivity. The Wanderlust teacher training experience creates ripples of love in the world.” Stacey C.
- “100% guaranteed to enrich your life massively. Forever. ” Gretchen K.
- “YES YES YES. DO IT!!! The best yoga teacher training around hands down (and legs up the wall!)” – Itzi CJ.

I am passionate about sharing the full, rich teachings of yoga (asana, meditation, yoga nidra, chanting, philosophy, etc.) in a truly experiential way that helps us to positively transform and enrich our lives. Having worked as a yoga therapist for over a decade, I am continually inspired by the vitality of the human spirit and the power of yoga to help us tap into a source deep peace and well-being.
I have been sharing the yoga life with all kinds of seekers for over 18 years and am the Co-Founder of the Alaya Yoga School, a Wanderlust Presenter and Teacher Trainer; and the original founder of Simple Yoga and Wellness Studio. I am a passionate community builder and give talks, lead teacher trainings, satsangs, workshops and retreats all over the world. You can also find my classes featured online at www.Gaia.com/Meg .
The 7 years I spent as a yoga studio owner in rural Montana fueled my passion for building diverse and strong communities that foster true human connection. Though I no longer run the studio, I recognize community building as the urgent work of our times and remain dedicated to that in all that I do. I am currently inspired to create safe and sacred spaces where these genuine connections can be established, flourish and endure. Throughout 2019 and 2020 it is my intention to bring this work to the great divides that we face in our current society. Outside of the studio, I will be working with a tribe of inspiring souls to sprout these communities in our prisons and along the racial and political divides.
Beyond teaching and my community work, you will find me outside, high in the mountains, running wild or exploring with the loves of my life – Lilli, Mark and Mr. McGee.
ASSISTANT: Shari Beard
I love YOGA and I am so blessed to share this practice with the world. In the last 20 years of practice and 12 years of teaching I have learned so much about myself and have found this life is all one big journey of Self Love. I feel deep gratitude to be able to call the Tahoe/Truckee Area of California my home since 1994. The mountains and this community have had an incredible healing effect on me. I am privileged to be called mama by a sparkly 11 year old and a 7 year old pup. Both are wonderful gurus for me. I love to rock climb, ski, hike, run and be outside. Most of all I love bringing community together to help facilitate the opening of hearts so we experience deeper connection and as a result live life more fully.
I have studied with master teachers for the last 10 years with over 1000 hours of Teacher Training. I am passionate about teaching alignment to help students connect to their bodies, mind and heart. I bring together fellow healers to teach workshops and retreats with me in Tahoe and around the world. I love facilitating connection in a group and making people feel that they are loved and they belong. It is a great joy of mine to see transformation happen in an individual when they are given support and accountability. I feel so blessed to love what I do.
I have been privileged to teach yoga in the schools from little ones to high schoolers, to new parents and parents with their children, to teachers and big group conferences. I have been honored to teach yoga adventure trips as far as Chile and the Wanderlust Festival right here in Squaw Valley.
